Keith McKittrick
Assistant Coach - Video

McKittrick enters his sixth season with the Red Wings coaching staff and his second as assistant coach – video. On headset with Detroit’s assistant coaches during games, he controls the team’s video capture and editing system from the coaches’ office. His responsibilities include, presenting video breakdowns of game situations to staff and players during intermissions, as well as organizing video scouting reports for game preparation. In addition, McKittrick provides video reports for post-game individual player-performance reviews and joins the coaching staff on-ice during team practices, focusing on skill development work with individual players.

Prior to joining the Red Wings, McKittrick spent three seasons as director of hockey operations for coach Rick Comley and the Michigan State hockey program (2005-08). McKittrick’s duties in East Lansing included oversight of the team’s video capture and editing system, providing video breakdowns and written scouting reports of opponents, and the coordination of all team travel.

McKittrick also spent time with the Minnesota Wild from 2002-05 as an assistant to the video coach, working on a variety of video projects and coordinating the Wild Hockey School. 

A native of Boston, Massachusetts, McKittrick added international hockey experience to his resume when he was selected as the video coach for Team USA at the 2006 Three Nations Tournament, and at the 2007 World Junior Championships in Sweden where he helped the Americans capture a bronze medal.

McKittrick earned a degree in Sports Management from the University of Minnesota.
