1966: Despite losing to the Canadiens in the series-clinching Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals, Red Wings goalie Roger Crozier, who amassed a 2.34 average and one shutout in 12 playoff games, earned the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP.
